If parallel universes exist
I hope there is one
Where you come home after a long day at work
And I’m cooking your favourite meal
You hug me from behind and we stay like that for a bit
Your safe space, my safe space, our home
If parallel universes exist
I hope there is one
Where we argue and mid-fight, your brilliant self thinks of a point that would win you the argument
But you look at my face, stop yourself and instead
Grab me mid sentence and kiss me
If parallel universes exist
I hope there is one
Where we sit together and merge our bucket lists
And then our life plans
Make plans on how we’ll grow grey together
If parallel universes exist
I hope there is one
Where you sing to me
In your sexy off-tone baritone
When you see me pouting
Melting me in minutes
If parallel universes exist
I hope there is one
Where we are at a party
And you’re discussing something, sharing your brilliance
And I just sit across from you beaming in your glory
If parallel universes exist
I hope there is one
Where I wake up curled in your arms
Seeing your face first thing in the morning
Breathing you in
and still being in disbelief that you are mine
But
In this universe,
I wake up alone and wonder where you are,
Wherever you are, I hope you are happy.
