Vision Board 2024: Goals, hopes & aspirations

Pinch me. How is it already 2024? I feel like it was just 2021 yesterday and here we are starting off an entirely new year. I honestly feel like the concept of time is lost on me. I do not appreciate how much time I have every single day and yet during milestone moments, I feel shocked at how fast time is running. If you are a friend and follower, you probably noticed that I have been missing from the blogosphere these past few months (it is also totally okay if you hadn’t noticed, I’m not that important). I took off from adulting for the last quarter of 2023 to focus on my mental health and myself. I just needed to cut off from everything to chill out and that’s exactly what I did.

So let me begin with catching you up with what I have been up to –

  1. I have been travelling. I snuck in 5-6 trips in the last 4 months of 2023. I visited some beautiful places across India. I will write a full blog post about it.
  2. I decided to wind down my business. If you have been following me for a bit, you probably know that I have been running my own small business since 2021. While I really love working for myself and on something I am so passionate about, it has been a challenge to grow the business with my limited budget and skills. So I finally decided to wind it down and head back to a corporate job (in the next 1-2 months). It was a decision that absolutely broke my heart to take but I want to be practical about it and not emotional. Wish me luck for whatever is next.
  3. I am still single. I just haven’t felt like dating. My dating wrapped (like Spotify wrapped) for 2023 is that I met 3 men for dates in the year. Only 1 of them I ended up meeting for multiple dates and I liked him but he had a hectic work life (lawyer) which meant we met once a month, which just didn’t work for me (I tried for 4 months). So, yeah, that is my dating wrapped in all of two sentences. *sigh*
  4. My mental health has improved considerably in the past 3-4 months, I decided to just not care about anything, I know it is not the right way to deal with stuff but hey, I feel less anxious so, I am just going to continue not caring.
  5. My physical health is at its worst. I barely worked out all of 2023 and didn’t quite take care of my eating habits either.

Here is my vision board for 2024 and 5 things I am going to do in the next few months to get started on making this vision a reality:

  1. Working out & eating right – I want to start taking care of my health by working out every day. I want to move my body for 30 minutes every single day even if it is just for a quick walk. I also want to be more conscious about what and how much I eat. I suffer from binge eating disorder and I have worked very hard to get it under control. Now that I have finally found more healthy coping mechanisms, I want to work out and make sure I end 2024 at my physical best.
  2. Dating – I am going to force myself to go on dates this year no matter how disheartening it might be. The goal is to meet at least 12 men for dates this year. (this obviously depends on whether or not I find someone I feel like dating for longer)
  3. Finding a job I like – My first goal for 2024 is to find a job I like. Wish me luck and leave any helpful tips you might have in the comments below.
  4. Make new friends & networking – I have always struggled with making friends but now in my thirties, I have come to realisation that the only way to grow as a person is to meet new people and make new friends. The friend who has helped me the most in the past two years, is a new friend I made in 2022. I also hate networking but I am still going to make an effort to grow my network in 2024.
  5. Move cities – I moved back to my home city of Delhi mid-pandemic, but now I am looking forward to moving cities and exploring life in a new city.

I will check in and keep you updated on my progress throughout 2024. In the meantime, do drop a comment and share your vision for 2024 What are your hopes, goals & aspirations?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! May this be your best year yet. ❤

  8. Glad to have you back. Yes, time seems to run really fast but slow when we’re expecting it to run fast! Happens I guess to the best of us. It’s good you took time for yourself and retrospect. It really helps us overall and keeps us in health and shape.
