Some Days

Some days – I feel like no one gets me, the craziness that lies beneath my calm exterior

Some days – I feel lost, with life taking so many turns and having no control on where I go

Some days – I feel alone, in a room filled with people yet no one that can read me

Some days – I feel ugly, with the mirror taunting my stretch marks and frizzy hair

Some days – I feel helpless, when the button on my skinny jeans refuses to close despite not having eaten anything in the past 2 days

Some days – I feel unappreciated, for all the little things I do and who I try to be

Some days – I feel weird, when my choices are so different from those I grew up with

Some days – I feel tired, like I’m the only one cheering on for myself in this never ending race for perfection

Some days – I feel worthless, after spending days procrastinating and not as much achieving

Some days – I feel quiet, like no words could explain what I want to say

Some days – I feel phony, when I try to fit into someone else’s definition of me

Some days – I feel frustrated, when time keeps flying but I’m still stuck in the same loop

Some days – I feel moody, pushing away all those around me – hoping someone will find their way back

Some days – I feel like putting my thoughts out there – hoping someone will relate to the jumbled up mess in my head.

PS: Over the past few weeks, every time I’d feel ‘meh’ I’d write one line on what I was feeling in a post here. This is a compilation of my ‘meh’ thoughts and feelings that I’ve had over the past 10-12 weeks. The idea behind doing this – was to vent but also record what I was feeling – so I could work on it after. Obviously – I have dramatized it and added some things but the underlying feelings remain the same.

How are you doing in 2021? Hope life is treating you good. ā¤

  1. 2021 so far has been me just trying to stay afloat. I just feel like I’m getting nowhere with my blog and my other side hustle stock trading. So I guess we’re both pretty meh 😐

    Girl, I feel youšŸ™ŒšŸ½

Last few months of 2020 brought me to my knees. It was frustrating —all the endless waiting. But as they say, there’s always light after a consistent phase of darkness.

Here’s sending you lots of love and virtual hugs. (you are not alonešŸ¤—) xx

  3. We all have these days, don’t we? Hang in there. It seems a good practice though, to write these things. Just reading it is therapeutic and I imagibe writig them, too.

  4. I don’t think I’ve related to a post more than this one! I always just try to remind myself that life isn’t perfect, it’s what you make it and how you view yourself. You’re a wonderful person. Whatever life throws at you, you got this! šŸ¤—

I can relate. Some days are just meh days, and it can be hard to push through that feeling. I think writing it down when you’re feeling not the best is actually such a good idea. And, for what it’s worth, even on the meh days, you got this. šŸ™‚

Very relatable! I think we all experience these things and don’t realize that we’re not so alone in thinking these thoughts as our shadow side would have us believe!

When I feel these feelings I try to pause and take a feel of what’s going on in my body! Being tired and hungry both contribute to my feeling that way. Feeling cooped up, not having enough fresh air is a trigger for me, so getting outside even for a short walk is very helpful and lets me reset my brain to feel more positive again! Working on a new project or my hobbies also helps me to feel more productive in a time where unproductivity seems to be everywhere!

I’m all over the place these days.. Most days are good, I try to stay positive and be grateful for what we have and what we don’t have (covid!), but there are a few days here and there that test my limits. Right now, I just allow myself to go with the flow and do things that help my mental health cope with everything going on…. Eat the bag of chips if I want, do yoga if I feel inspired, write and write and write more posts to express my inner thoughts… Watch YouTube! Anything to up the spirits šŸ™‚

I’m sure many of us will find your ā€œSome daysā€ highly relatable. For me as you’re aware 2021 started with some terrible surprises and drastic decisions, so I can only hope that it gets better eventually!

  13. Totally relatable! I think most of us feel like this at least some of the time, but can’t express it because of the perceived need to maintain a shiny veneer.

Just my anxiety is showing up again after months of being away. šŸ˜“ So trying to deal with that again.

Deep breaths. Maybe write your anxieties down and then add ‘but’ and try to write something that’s working in your life?
